Emergency crews were called to a serious collision on Highway 7 west of Okotoks Friday afternoon.

At about 4:54 p.m. on Sept. 22, a three-vehicle collision was reported near 70 Street W.

Three vehicles were involved, all facing westbound.

"The first vehicle in the line was a Dodge pickup truck, the second vehicle was a Ford Focus, and the third was a Chevy pickup truck," said RCMP Cpl. Curtis Peters.

The driver of the Ford Focus, an adult woman from Turner Valley, was found deceased at the scene, and the driver of the Chevy pickup was transported to hospital.

It appears the front-most pickup was waiting to turn left, with the Ford waiting behind it when it was struck by the Chevy pickup, but the investigation is still ongoing.

Drugs and alcohol are not considered a factor.

An RCMP collision reconstructionist was expected to be on the scene for several hours.
