Truck fire slows traffic on Highway 2 north of Okotoks

Southbound traffic on Highway 2 north of Okotoks is reduced to one lane following a truck fire.

Crews were alerted to the fire on the highway near Dunbow Road shortly after 1 p.m. on Oct. 4.

Crews found the truck fully involved when they arrived; the fire was in the engine compartment.

The fire is out, but there is no word yet on when normal traffic flow will resume.

Update: as of 1:45 p.m. crews have opened two lanes on the highway. Traffic is backed up to the south Calgary community of Seton. 

No injuries have been reported due to the incident.
