High River RCMP is investigating after two men held up a local restaurant Sunday evening.
Two men brandishing machetes entered the Rock-a-Doodles Chicken around 8:30 p.m. on Dec. 1, with one holding an employee and customer at knifepoint while the other took money from VLTs.
The suspects then forced the employee to show them the safe, removing it from the building.
After leaving the restaurant, the suspects fled in a newer model silver Chevrolet or GM truck, possibly with a crew or extended cab. There was a white decal in the top centre of the back window that may have been from Okotoks Chev/GM.
The entire incident occured over approximately 30 minutes.
The suspects are described as

male, between 5’5” and 6’0” tall – lanky build

wearing black jeans, shoes and jacket

wearing a balaclava with sunglasses
and

male, between 5’5” and 6’0” tall – stockier build than the first, but not fat

wearing black jeans, shoes and jacket
The employee and customer were not injured during the incident.
Police are hoping to speak with a witness that was walking on the west sidewalk across froom the restaurant around 9:18 p.m. that evening. That person or anyone else with information about the incident or the described suspects is asked to contact High River RCMP at 403-652-2357.
