The Christian music festival No Greater Love will be taking place in Cochrane on Aug. 11 and 12 located on the picturesque lands of the Canadian Southern Baptist Seminary (CSBS) and College. The purpose behind the No Greater Love Music Festival is that it will have a positive and lasting impact in the lives of all those who attend, igniting a deeper passion for Jesus and to love and serve each other, will be a place that like-minded people and organizations can gather together in unity, in one place to celebrate, demonstrate and share God’s unfailing love and will be rooted in Kingdom principles with God being first in everything those who attend do with their lives. Tammy Love, No Greater Love Music Festival executive producer, said the group is excited to bring the event to Cochrane after hosting it the last two years in Morley. "No Greater Love is thrilled to be partnered with the Canadian Southern Baptist Seminary and College right here in Cochrane, making it home for Canada's largest Christian music festival," Love said. "The family-friendly festival weekend is jam packed with incredible music, food trucks, vendors, a kids' zone, camping and so much more for the people who plan on attending to enjoy solo or with their family and friends." The lineup is not complete yet, but will be highlighted by bands such as Big Daddy Weave, Tenth Avenue North and Sidewalk Prophets. There will also be 12 other bands taking the stage over the course of the two-day event. Big Daddy Weave is one of Christian music’s most loved and respected artists. A mainstay on radio, the band achieved their most recent hit single with The Lion and The Lamb. This follows five consecutive No. 1 singles Christian music charts, including Love Come To Life, Redeemed, The Only Name (Yours Will Be), Overwhelmed and My Story. Redeemed became an anthem of unprecedented impact when it spent 11 weeks at No. 1, was dubbed Song of the Year at the first annual K-LOVE Fan Awards, earned Dove Award and Billboard Music Award nominations and was certified Gold by the RIAA. Since forming in 2002, Big Daddy Weave members Mike Weaver (lead vocals, guitar), Jay Weaver (bass, vocals), Jeremy Redmon (guitar, vocals), Joe Shirk (saxophone, keys, vocals) and Brian Beihl (drums) have released seven full-length projects, amassed more than one million units in album sales and have received numerous honors, including ASCAP and BMI Awards and the prestigious Rich Mullins Artist Impact Award, among others. Tickets for the festival vary depending on age. Weekend passes for adults are priced at $99, youth weekend passed for kids ages 11-17 are $59 per person and a family pass of two adults and two youth will go for $299. If you're only planning on attending one of the two days, single day passes are $65 for adults and $45 for youth. If you and the family plan on camping during the weekend, it's an additional $150 total for three nights, while parking will be $20 for the two days and $10 for single day passes.
