The Cochrane Public Library is vying for votes after being nominated for a provincial award.
Yesterday, Alberta Municipal Affairs shortlisted the organization for its 2017 Minister’s Award for Excellence in Public Library Service YOU Libraries People’s Choice Award, which celebrates libraries that think outside the box to promote themselves – and their purpose – in the community.
Last year’s successful Medieval Day event is one of the nominees.
“It’s gets the whole community out; everybody’s learning something,” said assistant Gail Ames.
Now, fans must vote at www.laa.ca/youaward from March 27 to 31 to put Cochrane in the winner’s circle. The library event with the most votes will be honoured at the Alberta Library Conference in April.
The library’s second Medieval Day is slated for July 22.
