Final Touch Art Studio will be putting a different spin on St. Patrick’s Day, with its second annual St. Paddy’s Day themed paint night, A Bridge in Ireland.

Final Touch owner, Sharon Kulhavy, said there would be plenty of activities for people to enjoy and she hopes it gives the locals a different way to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day without having to go out to the bar.

“We’re going to put out some appetizers, the studio will be decorated up in green and there will also be some Celtic music going on as well,” Kulhavy said.

“It’s a regular paint night, but we hosted a St. Patrick’s Day-themed night last year and got a lot of great feedback from people who attended. It went off pretty well, and it gave people something to do other than just going out to the bars.”

“We’re getting a liquor licence, so everybody who attends will get one free glass of wine or green beer with their ticket as well. It gives the community a little bit of a different spin on the celebrations, where they can still come in and have a few drinks, but also allows them to do so without having to trying to make plans at the pub.”

Kulhavy also mentioned that there would be a lot of people from out of town, due to the fact that Cochranites have spread the word of these paint nights to their friends and family.

“We have people coming from all over Alberta. We have people coming from Edmonton, Canmore, Okotoks and Calgary. We’re getting people from all over right now. There’s a few people also coming from Sundre and Crossfield as well,” Kulhavy said.

“From what we’ve heard here at the studio, all of these people have caught wind of our paint nights and asked if we were doing a St. Patrick’s Day theme because they were looking for some place to go to that evening. It’s just a different twist on the evening where it allows them to celebrate the event in a creative kind of way.

“A group from Carstairs said they heard it was the best paint night in Alberta, so they’re coming down for the weekend, staying in a hotel here in Cochrane, eating out and shopping in the local stores.”

“It’s really cool to hear things like that because we at Final Touch aren’t just helping our business alone, they are potentially helping other local establishments as well.”

Tickets, which are priced at $50 per person, are selling fast.

“We’re already three-quarters full. Spots have been filling up fairly quickly in the last couple weeks,” Kulhavy said.

“Because last year’s version went so well, people are expecting a fun night.”

Those who are interested in booking a spot for the paint night can call Kulhavy at 403-613-4907.
