Final Touch Art Studio and Gallery is hosting its first annual Winter Art Show and Sale on Nov. 16.
The show will feature nine artists from Final Touch looking to sell their pieces, while three other independent companies — The Rustic Olive Bar, Thrive Life and Peacock Jewellers Studio and Supply — will also be present for the event.
The show is free for all to attend and will feature live music, door prizes and a silent auction to help support the Cochrane Activettes.
Final Touch Art Studio and Gallery owner Sharon Kulhavy says the main purpose of the Winter Art Show and Sale was to give locals a head start on their Christmas shopping.
“We wanted to do this specific show and sale because it’s right before Christmas, the prices of the artists’ work are reasonable for the people to purchase personal art as gifts for Christmas,” Kulhavy said.
“It’s also a great way to showcase some other businesses in Cochrane with Rustic Olive, Peacock Jewellers and Thrive Life also joining us… It’s great to show the community what they have to offer as well.”
Kulhavy also says the show is a great way for the nine artists chosen in Final Touch to present their work to the public, and the goal is to get the majority of their pieces sold.
“The artists had to have eight to 10 paintings minimum, so the show was established on what they had in inventory for sale… not everybody in the studio (is) taking classes for their work to be sold, but the nine who were selected have already sold several paintings within the studio, so they are artists that are in demand for their work,” Kulhavy said.
Kulhavy is hoping that the show and sale is very successful for a number of reasons.
“In a perfect world the result would be that more people know about the Rustic Olive, Peacock Jewellers, Thrive Life and then us at Final Touch.
“The goal is to get everyone more exposure within the community,” Kulhavy said.
“I want the artists to be happy with the night and be able to sell some of their art work.”
The Winter Art Show and Sale will take place from 5 to 9 p.m. at Final Touch Art Studio at 9118 First Ave. West in Cochrane.
