The Cochrane Lions Club held its first annual Spring Barn Dance at the Lions Event Centre on April 20, exceeding all expectations. Mark Demeo, Lions Club director of public relations, said the crowd came in waves and the club was trying its best to make sure their guests were comfortable and everyone was happy. "We were grabbing any spare tables we had lying around the facility to accommodate our guests," said Demeo. "We were a little surprised by how many people showed up so early to the event. By 9:30 we were almost at capacity." "Just as the band TC and Company started belting out country hits from the past and present, it was standing room only in the huge facility." Demeo said Cochrane wanted an event of this kind – an old-fashion country dance where the community came to together, have some great conversations and danced the night away. "The dance floor was packed with two-steppers and line dancers young and old, the entire time the band was on stage. We don't have enough good things to say about TC and Company ... they were awesome and really had the crowd going all night long with their tunes," said Demeo. "We had nothing but positive feedback from anyone we spoke to at the dance."
