Get your pancake fill this Stampede around town

With the celebration of Canada's 151st birthday wrapping up on Sunday with fireworks, Cochranites and Canadians alike will now turn their heads to the Calgary Stampede, which kicks off July 6.

Locals looking to dig into Stampede pancake breakfasts will have plenty of options starting July 7.

With the celebration of Canada's 151st birthday wrapping up on Sunday with fireworks, Cochranites and Canadians alike will now turn their heads to the Calgary Stampede, which kicks off July 6. In true Stampede fashion, businesses around town will be offering up your fill of pancake breakfasts, served with a side of Western hospitality as the Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth consumes the region until July 15. JULY 6, 7, 8 and 9 The Stampede breakfasts will kick off on July 6 from 8 a.m. until 10 a.m. hosted by KS Communications, The Corner Coworking, Urban Casual and Don't Panic Mechanic. The breakfast will be located at the Corner Coworking on Railway Street. On July 7 the Trading Post in Sunset Ridge will be hosting their free Stampede breakfast from 9 a.m. until noon. There will be plenty of activities for the whole family to enjoy including live music, face painting and ponies. The Bow Valley Baptist Church will welcome local families and early risers to their parking lot from 8 a.m. until 10 a.m. on July 8 for their free pancake celebration of Stampede. Jumping Pound Community Hall Society will also be taking part in the Stampede festivities on July 8, as they'll be hosting their annual breakfast from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. at the community hall. Grand Central Businesses will be hosting their free Stampede breakfast during the morning of July 9 from 8 a.m. until 11 a.m. in the parking lot shared by sponsoring businesses at 201 Grand Boulevard. JULY 12 The Boys and Girls Club of Cochrane and Area are welcoming folks to take in their pancake breakfast from 7 a.m. until 11 a.m. at their clubhouse on July 12. Those attending are encouraged to bring their own plates and cutlery to be entered in a draw and there will also be $10 West Jet raffle tickets available until draw time. This event is free, but donations to the club are welcome. Join the businesses on 2nd Avenue for an afternoon of food, live music and fun on July 12. From 2 p.m. until 6 p.m.  members of the local businesses from Cochrane will be grilling Spolumbo's sausages and hot dogs and listening to live music from local musician Allan Watts. Kids can enjoy a bouncy castle and face painting and leashed pets are welcome! This free community event has been sponsored by Arrowhead Veterinary Centre, Cochrane Coffee Traders, RE/MAX West Real Estate, Texas Gate Bar & Grill/Rockyview Hotel and Tim's Gourmet Pizza.
