Luna Vietnamese Cuisine is hosting a bi-weekly open mic event every second Friday. The first open mic was held on Sept. 1 and will continue through until the wintertime. The next scheduling is set for Sept. 29.
Luna welcomes anyone of any skill level who wants to share his or her music and the usage of any instrument is encouraged.
The host is passionate musician Jakey Jives. He is Alberta raised and has been all over the country. Jives recently moved from Toronto back to Cochrane and is described as an experienced performer who cares for the arts.
The open mic will take place on Luna’s patio and food and drink specials will be offered to anyone who chooses to perform. Connections for all acoustic/electric guitars, microphones, mixers and amps will also be supplied.
Luna will post all updates on its Facebook page about the open mic.
Any performers or bands looking to co-ordinate a set to play, can also contact Luna through their Facebook page where they will post to the band’s social media page letting the community know that they’ll be playing that evening.
The registration for walk-ins looking to participate will start at 6 p.m. and the evening will conclude at 9 p.m. Luna, formerly known as Olive R’ Twist, is located at 205 First Street in Cochrane.
