A star so famous in the world of country music that she’s known by only just her first name - Reba - is coming to Stoney Nakoda.

Music icon Reba McEntire will headline the Saturday night performance at the second annual No Greater Love Music Festival, organizers announced yesterday.

“Having a major international artist headline a faith-based music festival is unique and as far as we know, has never been done before,” said executive producer Karri Ward in a release. “We are thrilled to have Reba perform at this year’s festival.”

Hosted at Chief Goodstoney Rodeo Grounds near Morley, No Greater Love 2017 will take place Aug. 12 and 13 and feature other top acts from around the world, like Australian Christian pop brothers Joel and Luke of For King and Country, Florida’s Tenth Avenue North, Grammy-nominated power pop band Building 429, and Ontario’s own Christian rock and pop punk group, Hawk Nelson.

McEntire also comes to the fest as a faith-based artist with her latest album, Sing It Now: Songs of Faith and Hope, including both classic hymns and contemporary spiritual songs. Her single Back to God topped the Billboard Country and Christian/Gospel charts, earning the legend her 13th No. 1 hit.

Last year’s inaugural weekend was dubbed as Canada’s largest Christian music festival, with more than 4,000 tickets sold and 200 campsites booked. This time, $150 weekend passes or $99 day passes are still available at ticketfly.com, along with camping and parking options. Children under 12 are free with online registration.

The family friendly two-day event includes a kids’ fun area, food trucks and more.
