First off, good Job Mr. Nagel and Ms. Fedeyko.
I was impressed to see such concrete actions on your first days on this council. I’m referring to your motions showing you’re getting down to work! Mr. Nagel’s motion holds promise to look at the cumulative impacts of developments and plan accordingly and Ms. Fedeyko’s motion will begin to move council discussions from a distant building to our homes, which should always be the goal of public engagement. I’m hoping though that this will be the start, not the finish of a process to address individual developments with proper macro level planning and public engagement. I’m hoping that Ms. Fedeyko, with council’s support, also looks at ideas such as yearly meet and greets put on by council and administration similar to what Mr. Genung did during the last week of the election. All meetings should be posted on the town website and live streamed (something that could be done as cheaply as using someone’s cell phone if need be). Also strict criteria for in-camera sessions, which were used by last council in record numbers, should be put in place as well as and ensuring that all motions and voting are clearly recorded for easy reference in the future. A yearly volunteer group meet and greet and networking event recognizing our town’s unbelievable group of volunteers is also an idea. Again, good job and keep it going. Regards Dan Cunin
