A poetic response

This is a response in regards to Karrie Peace’s Oct. 12 poem titled “Our poetic election choices” So here we are, the election is done, and as we can see, Jeff is the one. Our new mayor he will shortly be, it is a choice picked by our community.

This is a response in regards to Karrie Peace’s Oct. 12 poem titled “Our poetic election choices”

So here we are, the election is done,

and as we can see, Jeff is the one.

Our new mayor he will shortly be,

it is a choice picked by our community.

Ivan had a real good run,

but his time as mayor is officially done.

In regards to Tom, I think Ms. Peace needs a refresher course,

you don’t obtain experience by getting a divorce.

She says that Jeff “lacks sincere connection and a clear vision,”

I guess that’s not what the electors thought, by their decision.

No matter what the issues are, it is not an easy feat,

either way it’s a tough job being in the drivers seat.

The Quarry is, and will always remain,

a sore spot for Ms. Peace, as she has proclaimed.

By writing derogatory comments about all of the candidates,

she is not giving them a chance, right out of the gate.

So as we move forward at a steady pace,

let’s work together to solve the problems we face.

Past mistakes we must forgive,

its time to make Cochrane an even better place to live.
