Dear editor:
Re: a plea from Lamont Murphy’s auntie Mel and uncle Mike.
It is time that we all grow up and learn how to become powerful people, courageously choosing each day to connect and forgive in the face of pain and suffering, instead of choosing to disconnect in hurt, fear or anger, so that our community can be healed.
“The whole nature of relationship is that you cannot control it. All you can control is your free choice to love others and receive their love. When you make that choice, freedom grows and fear goes. The sign that you really have love in your relationships is that you and the people around you are free and are not scared. Free people are going to tell you the truth. They are going to make mistakes. That will test the relationship and the state of the heart. It will require you to grow up and become powerful. But the more powerful you become, the more you will be able to hold on to your connection with people and help them work through their truth…” (Danny Silk, from his book Keep Your Love On).
Perfect love cast out all fear.
