To current Town of Cochrane councillors and future councillor applicants:

Regarding Cluck and its proposed initiative to introduce chicken coops to Cochrane neighbourhoods,

I have only one question for you to consider please – what impact will live chickens and their chicken coops have on the “value of my property “ for property tax purposes by the Town of Cochrane and the resale of my property?

Has anyone researched this simple question with the local real estate folks PLUS the Town of Cochrane “assessment people”?

I do not want chickens in my neighbour’s backyard for numerous reasons, most of which have already been identified by Councillor Ross Watson and his colleagues with the possible exception of Councillor Morgan Nagel.

A reader promoted the best solution to-date recently – Cluck should find a patch of ground “outside of Cochrane” where these “folks” can play chicken farmer.

To councillors, current and future candidates, hang in there and don’t be a chicken to vote common sense.
