Dear editor:
While it was nice to see my son mentioned in the March 26 edition of the Eagle, I wanted to note that there were a great number of Cochrane kids who participated in the various festivals occurring during the month of March. Nine of these kids will be representing Cochrane in the upcoming Alberta Musical Festival Association Provincials held at the end of May. Our little ‘town’ has some really talented kids and they all deserve mention. The Cochrane kids who qualified for provincials are:
Aubrey Baux - 12 & Under Male Vocal (through the Airdrie Rotary Festival)
Kayla Kulcsar - 16 & Under Vocal (through Bow Valley Music Festival)
Soren Lorentzen – 12 & Under Violin (through Bow Valley Music Festival)
Natasha Marcille – Piano Grade 5-6 (through Bow Valley Music Festival)
Faith Stewart - Alternate Senior Voice (through Airdrie Rotary Festival)
Leisl Stewart - Piano Grade 7 & 8 (through Bow Valley Music Festival)
Lara Stewart - Vocal 12 & Under (through Airdrie Rotary Festival)
Marilee Usden - 12 & Under Musical Theatre (through Airdrie Rotary Festival)
Rhett Usden - Piano Grade 2-4 (through Bow Valley Music Festival)
There were many more Cochrane kids than listed here who participated in these arts festivals.
All them work extremely hard and bring a lot of depth to our community by their involvement in the arts. We should be proud of all of them.
