Mr. Jerry Arshinoff, councillor Division 2, Rocky View County, complains about the council defeating his motion(s) about a voters list for Rocky View County elections (Aug. 4 Cochrane Eagle). I do not know if his motion was a good one, an inappropriate one, or an appropriate one. That is not the point.
There are two reasons his vote did not go his way. It was his fault, not the fault of the other councillors. First, perhaps it was a bad motion and the other councillors saved the county from a bad decision. Second, perhaps it was a good motion but Mr. Arshinoff did not have the political and/or verbal skills to help the other councillors to see the brilliance of his motion.
Either way, do not blame the others. It is your issue Mr. Arshinoff. You could not get it done. Perhaps building relationships with the majority of the councillors would help you with your agenda. I wish you well, my friend.
