I would dearly love three or four in my backyard in River Heights. I am so excited by the prospect of being able to keep them, and I will be one of the first to apply for permission from the town when the time comes.
They would be treated extremely well. I would do my research and try to give them the best life - just as I do for our family dog. I would take whatever measures necessary to prevent them from being a nuisance to neighbours and a target for predators.
When they get too old to lay eggs, they would be allowed to live out their natural life. I think that more noise is created by the abundance of dogs in the area to be honest. But I don't have a problem with that either. Providing there are rules and guidelines to prevent unwanted situations, then it is a harmless venture.
