Dear editor:
On behalf of the board of directors of the Cochrane and District Agricultural Society, I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to the many, many Cochrane residents, volunteers and sponsors who helped make our Cochrane Fall Fair a huge success.
A huge shout out to Mayor Ivan Brooker and the Town of Cochrane firefighters for helping us sandbag when we were threatened with flooding.
Our Ag Society Fair Committee chair Don Hepburn, directors Isabel Gimber, Leslie Hunt, Trade Show chair Paola Dotta Cena, our general manager Molly Sapergia, along with Ed Want and Laurel Hunt worked numerous hours to plan, organize and host our great event.
Huge help also came from Hugh and Sue McZelland, Paula Wild, Nina Brunton, Paul Howarth and Trent Lishka.
I want to thank my ‘Buck Off’ colleagues — Ivan Brooker, MLA Cameron Westhead and Lions Club president Darren Beggs.
You were tremendously good sports to accept my challenge — however, the loan of Leo Brown’s hat and his tips to me on how to ride a bull ensured I did not fall off! Hats off to the great coverage we received in our local newspapers. See you all next year!
