My circle of friends and I are seniors who proudly supported the Alberta Conservative Party under Peter Lougheed and Don Getty, and stopped supporting them when Liberal Ralph Klein came along. We supported the NDP knowing we had to put a stop to the "Horrific Mess," as Lougheed called it, deeply concerned for our children's and grandchildren's future.
What we find so disturbing is the fact that so many of our fellow seniors go around bragging about what great conservatives they are but are willing to support anyone who attaches the word conservative to their name, believing every lie they feed them, while ignoring their background history.
While accusing me of not being a true conservative for not joining the Jason Kenney bandwagon Lloyd Leugner is in fact proving my point. Jason Kenney, like Klein, is another former Liberal. He was an assistant to Justin Trudeau's right hand man Ralph Goodale in the Liberal Party in Regina. He came to Alberta to join Preston Manning and Stephen Harper's, Reform Party movement. In other words he has never been a true conservative, and as we know there is a huge difference.
So while this former Liberal turned Reformer promises to make our lives a living hell by not increasing taxes or royalties for his rich friends he claims he will fix everything by slashing billions off government spending by dumping the costs onto the backs of the people with a lot more privatization. How stupid does he think we are?
Well he knows it, as our fellow seniors are proving. I can assure them us true conservatives aren't interested in helping them elect another Liberal, we know what their Liberal hero Ralph Klein did to us.
