In response to Marge Ruggles’ letter published in the Cochrane Eagle March 5:
First off, kudos to the Eagle staff for checking and publishing both sides of the story. Well done!
Secondly, kudos to Guy for banning - in my opinion - a rude, oppressive and abusive customer.
I hate eating in restaurants where someone is causing a scene; it completely ruins the eating out experience. I know of other restaurant owners who have done this, and I applaud Guy and every other restaurant owner with the guts to stand up for themselves and their staff. I wish more restaurant owners and managers had courage like yours.
To Marge Ruggles, in my opinion, you need to get a dictionary (or an Internet connection) and look up some words, including but not limited to, ‘defamation’, ‘slander’ and ‘libel’.
Thank you to Guy and your staff for improving the eating out scene in Cochrane.
