On being BAD

So, you get what you get and are not allowed to choose some personal attributes you receive, good or bad, by genetics. Well, I got something that I would not wish for myself or even my best enemy, let alone my worst. I’m not whining, just saying.

So, you get what you get and are not allowed to choose some personal attributes you receive, good or bad, by genetics. Well, I got something that I would not wish for myself or even my best enemy, let alone my worst. I’m not whining, just saying. I know that many people have health issues that are so much more serious than what I have but I still have to deal with my stuff. My stuff is called Type One, Bipolar Affective Disorder (BAD). Please note that the acronym is upper case, not lower case. I do not think that I am a bad BAD; I think I am a good BAD…as far as that goes…others might well disagree. There have historically been some really amazing BADs…Too Bad I am not one of them! I have seen lists of people who have been diagnosed with BAD and it is impressive in its depth and variety with the majority of the people being actors, actresses, artists, authors, politicians (including presidents and royalty) and definitely comedians (Hullo, Robin). A well known Canadian comedian has said that there are just two types of comedians: diagnosed & undiagnosed as to having BAD. I am pleased to see that mental health issues seem to be more in the news lately, especially with regard for our young people. There are a multitude of mental health disorders, which are very prevalent and yet dealing with these issues has been tucked under the rug for far too long (Hullo, Jack). How about we try to help each other. My Mom says that everyone is BAD to some extent and I tend to agree. I guess I’m completely out now. Oh well, shazbot brother. Scott Rath Water Valley, AB
