I'm in complete agreement with the suits and boots demand that the Canadian government kill Bill C-69. This bill, if passed, will literally destroy any future oil, gas and mining industrial development in Western Canada. (I fear this is precisely Trudeau's goal).
The despicable $1.6 billion offer of financial assistance to Alberta's energy industry is not what Alberta wants or needs. Alberta wants the pipelines built that the Trudeau Government's policies have rejected.
In addition, Quebec's disregard for its fellow province flies in the face of what Alberta gives to Quebec in terms of the billions of dollars in equalization payments provided by Alberta's energy industry.
If "there's no social acceptability for oil in Quebec" as Legault told his fellow Premiers, why does he permit Saudi "blood" oil to be imported at Quebec ports while Canadian oil (oil that pays for Quebec's equalization payments) lies landlocked in my province?
Even more ludicrous is that while West Coast Canadian tankers are subjected to our environmental rules, the Saudi tankers that ply Maritime and Quebec waters are not subjected to the same rules at all?
The double standards that the Canadian Government establishes and allows defies every rule of logic.
I am appalled and disgusted at what is happening to the Canada that I was once so proud to serve.
