Dear editor:

On Oct. 3, Sustainability Partners Uniting Resources (SPUR) hosted a celebration of the fifth year of the Cochrane Sustainability Plan.

Almost 40 community leaders gathered together in the afternoon for a workshop to discuss the challenges and opportunities facing Cochrane, which was followed by a sold-out, locally sourced “harvest dinner”.

SPUR would like to thank Great Things in Store, Green King Ltd., Vision Financial Inc. and Kitchen Boutique for supporting the event, Lara Kruger for the dinner music, Fallen Timber Meadery for the wonderful beverages and Cathy with Cook for Hire for bringing it all together with a sumptuous meal.

The evening had much more to do with enjoying the company of neighbours, friends and peers than enjoying the great food, so thank you to everyone who came out and made it such a great night.

Jeff Couillard, co-chair
