Step N Stride seeks support

"Once again, the many Cochrane and district families who deal with Parkinson disease are seeking assistance in our annual 'Step 'n Stride' fundraising event which is significant for our ongoing effort toward research and care within Alberta. This year we are also very pleased to have a great group of Airdrie and district families joining us.

Our annual five km walk (this year Sept. 11th at 1:00 p.m.) from the Cochrane Ranche staging area off Highway 1A meanders along the pathway to the Bow River and return. We are hoping for a good turnout from local supporters and we encourage them to obtain pledge forms on line from Parkinson Alberta Society or I will arrange to get them for participants.

Following 'The Walk' we will enjoy a barbecue (courtesy of SaveOnFoods) and some delightful outdoor entertainment by the Downstairs Band. Mr. Alex Baum will be our event master of ceremonies. It should be noted too that six organizations will be on hand for a "Wellness Fair" which will help those among us who deal with various health issues.

We do look forward to this fundraising social event and we invite participants (and their pets) to take part. Please contact me directly if you have any further questions or suggestions. Pledge forms are available on line or by giving me a call at 403-932-5654.
