Thanks to Kimmett Foundation, Rotary and caring community

Oct. 28, 2015, will long be remembered as a banner day for the Cochrane and District Warm Water Therapy Pool Society.

We were invited to accept a cheque for $76,000 from the Kimmett Foundation, the Rotary Club, and the people of Cochrane and area who had planned, schemed, canvassed, donated, worked, and golfed amongst the snowflakes to fill the coffers during last month’s Tournament of Aces.

Don’t know how you would hug a cheque, but that’s what we wanted to do. It means that we can now confidently start looking for exercise equipment designed to work under water: equipment that will make it possible for more people to train or retrain their bodies to move more freely. The pool will be like a gym underwater, and it will serve all ages with chronic and medical conditions.

Each and every director thanks you for believing in us and making this Tournament of Aces a successful one. It just proves that if you dream hard enough, work hard enough and live in such a caring community as Cochrane, amazing things can happen.

See you in the pool!

Pat Graham, Cochrane and Area Warm Water Therapy Pool Society
