Sadly, I have been reading the articles in the Cochrane Eagle regarding the legalization of pot. There has been lots of discussion centering on location of vendors, regulation, etc. However, little discussion has focused on the social costs of this misguided move.
One question that remains outstanding for me is whether anyone has asked if we must allow this type of business in town. Sure, there's money to be made.
I suggest that perhaps we do not need to blindly follow the lead of our incompetent liberal governments and let apathy on this issue leave us falling down this slope. We owe it to our community and our future.
