What about the wildlife

Hi there, I see the Jones Estate is back on the agenda for the upcoming Council meeting. My wife  and I have lived in GlenEagles Estates Lane the past four-and-a-half years and I am a first year member of the estates condo board. Our front driveway is right across from the bottom of that hill. Yes, we have concerns with soil stability and water and what could run down that hill to our front door. However, we have another concern that hasn't received any media coverage. I really can't believe this is still going to be a topic. At 8:30 a.m. this morning (Nov. 11) while I was getting ready to shovel my driveway I snapped a couple of pics of three deer heading up the hill and across the Jones Estate. This has occurred almost daily since the weather got colder. It is fairly common 12 months of the year. Back when opinions were still being asked for – I sent two submissions to the town and one to council regarding the Jones Estate. I believe that any construction at The Jones Estate is going to create a choke point. The wildlife (fox included) will start heading up the hill in order to cross the other side and down across the single lane, quieter road. When construction starts, they will, more than likely, be forced back across the 1A. And that is a killing zone as we all know with the carcasses that litter the road between here and Calgary. Sure they 'might' go behind the Estate and around...but not all the time. It's probably too late to ask – but who's going to foot the bill for a tunnel or overpass across the 1A to accommodate them? Maybe I'm dreaming that anyone on council or with administration is concerned or cares. Bigger concerns are the entrance in and out of the Vista's, drainage, soil stability, etc. No one has asked about the impact on wildlife. Thank you. Leon Tanse
