Why I didn't vote

It’s hard not to have seen the countless number and colors of placards of the candidates running in this year’s municipal election for various appointments.

It’s hard not to have seen the countless number and colors of placards of the candidates running in this year’s municipal election for various appointments.

On more than one occasion I sat down through the pages and pages of candidates in our two local papers. Looking through I couldn’t help feel that the promises are copy and paste from one candidate to the other.

So how is one to choose? I honestly would be comfortable with a one per cent voter turnout rate if that one per cent were fully immersed in the issues and candidates.

I’ve heard such political anguishes as “I had to vote so I voted for Trudeau because he has the nicest hair,” unfortunately a true story. So if 37 per cent of Cochranites feel informed enough to make an educated vote then so be it.

I refuse to make an un-educated vote and I think the town is all the better for it.
