Three individuals facing a variety of drug-related charges will have their cases pushed forward until June 4, as announced during Cochrane Provincial Court May 21.
Those appearing in court were two of the six persons charged following a Cochrane RCMP investigation that identified three marijuana grow operations on the Stoney Nakoda First Nation. Two additional residences, also located on the reserve, were identified by RCMP as being involved with drug trafficking.
The investigation seized nearly $400,000 worth of marijuana.
Geraldine (Buffy) Myrna Bearspaw, 47, of Morley, and John Anthony Sedo, 42, also of Morley, are facing a variety of charges, including trafficking of a controlled substance.
Son Hung Ngo, 50, of Calgary did not appear in court. While it was requested on Ngo’s behalf to set a trial date, necessary amendments to his charges will be brought forward June 4. It is expected a trial date will be set at that time.
