The artists behind the Foothills Art Club have been busy putting the finishing touches on their offerings for their 10th Anniversary Celebration Art Show and Sale.

The celebratory show and sale is slated to run April 5, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the Cochrane Alliance Church.

“This is the finale in a series of events we had in honour of our 10th season as a club,” said Lilly Ching, president of the local organization.

Over the past 10 years, the club has provided artists of all mediums and skill-levels a place to discuss, enhance and critique their art. Currently, the group boasts a roster of more than 50 members — many of who will show-off their wares during the April show and sale.

In addition to the talent on display, the event will auction off three paintings with proceeds to support the Cochrane Activettes. The artwork up for bid, the largest of which stands 14” x 11”, includes an oil, acrylic and a watercolour painting.

“Each of the artists will be there — we can help people learn to appreciate art or can explain our work and vision,” said Ching.

Besides the artwork, showgoers can take in live entertainment, some words from past members and a tasty cake-cutting ceremony. Admission into the show is complimentary. More details on the club, and the show, can be found at foothillsartclub.com.
