Exploratory work by ATCO Gas is expected to continue into the weekend.

Commuters from the 1A can expect some delays when they turn into Centre Ave., as exploratory work by ATCO will continue to take place up until the weekend of March 15-16.

Shane Hubel, director of operations for the Town of Cochrane, explained that the Town has been made aware of a natural gas leak in the area of 1st St. and Centre Ave. In response, ATCO Gas has been conducting exploratory work in the area.

“Although this isn’t a town project, we are encouraging residents to follow Town socials and consider taking alternate routes in the area, to better allow ATCO to do their work,” Hubl said.

With work currently underway, Hubl said exploration work is expected to work into the weekend of Mar. 15.

Hubl encourages residents to stay informed on what goes around in town by following the Town of Cochrane on all major social media platforms, or by visiting www.cochrane.ca.
