Bail denied for accused murderer

Tylen Tray Poucette, 20, from Morley was charged with second-degree murder of Kori Wesley, on Aug. 10 and appeared in Cochrane Provincial Court on Sept. 13 where bail was denied and court was adjourned until October.

Welsey’s body was found at the Chiniki Rodeo grounds on Aug. 7 by the Cochrane RCMP with help from the Southern Alberta RCMP Major Crimes, Calgary and Lethbridge Forensic Identification Sections, RCMP Police Dog, the K Division Interview Assistance Team and the Calgary Medical Examiner’s office – where the death was deemed suspicious.

A 17-year-old youth also from the Nation, who cannot be identified due to age, was also arrested on Aug. 11. Details of the youth’s hearing were not available.

The case is currently going through Cochrane Provincial Court system.
