Santa’s helpers came together to spread holiday cheer and give special campers a jolly Christmas. Fifty Bragg Creek and Redwood Meadows residents filled 60 Christmas stockings with donated goods at the Easter Seals Camp Horizon’s annual stocking-stuffer event on Dec. 3 at Redwood House.
For over 30 years Easter Seals Camp Horizon has hosted a Christmas Camp for adults with disabilities and special needs who will live at the camp from Dec. 23 to 26.
“Santa delivers these stockings in person on Christmas morning,” said Easter Seals Camp Horizon Director, Operations Anna Garcia. “Christmas Camp is where campers and staff truly experience the spirit of Christmas.”
The Bragg Creek Ladies Auxiliary started the stocking-stuffer event 15 years ago, and every year the Bragg Creek Seniors knitting group makes 60 scarf and mitten sets for the stockings.
“It’s amazing to see our local community come out in such a display of support for our campers,” said Garcia.
“If people would still like to give, they can make donations online for the stocking stuffers as we can add to the stockings right up until Christmas Day.”
