Bow Valley High School’s senior band played their way to top prize at this year’s Alberta International Band Festivals, held in Edmonton from March 17-21.
The students earned themselves a gold medal plaque — awarded when the two adjudicators both rate the band’s performance as superior.
In addition, the senior band was awarded the Adjudicator Choice Award for being the most outstanding high school band at the event.
This is the second time the senior band has earned this honour at this festival.
Cochrane residents still have an opportunity to hear the sounds of the Bow Valley High band.
The young musicians will take the stage in their final fundraising concert of the year: Black & White Night.
The annual fundraiser is set to run June 3 at the high school.
