Virtual Round Dance 

The Honouring Life program, Îyârhe Nakoda Youth Program and Stoney Family Resource Network will be hosting a Virtual Round Dance on April 1 at 6 p.m. 2021, starting at 6:00 pm. The event will be broadcast live on their Facebook page, YouTube channel and aired on Siktoge Ja-radio 88.5. Community members in Morley, Bighorn, and Eden Valley are invited to attend and listen to local drum groups, youth singers, and elders as they drum, sing and tell stories. Boys and Girls Club of Cochrane and Area accepting bottle donations

The Boys and Girls Club of Cochrane and Area is continuing to collect redeemable bottles and deposit containers at their 5th Ave location in town. The proceeds raised by the donations will help support the continued delivery of their free children and youth programs for the community. Bottles can be dropped off at their location on 5th Avenue at any time. For after-office hours drop off, text ‘Bottles’ to 403-690-1612. For more information email [email protected].

Deadline nearing to nominate for Cochrane Community Awards 

The deadline is approaching to nominate an outstanding local citizen, community leader, school, business or organization for the Cochrane Community Awards. The last date for nominations is Friday (April 9). The award celebrates and recognizes the outstanding achievements and contributions in the Cochrane community. There are a total of 13 award categories, which includes the prestigious Order of Cochrane 2021, presented by Cochrane’s mayor and council. All nominees will be recognized and completing a nomination can be done through an online form. The option to nominate by completing and submitting a paper application form is also available. The awards will be presented in a COVID-19--adapted awards ceremony with details to be announced at a later date, and the awards ceremony taking place on May 16.
