The wet weather in Cochrane has resulted in the Fire Ban in town being downgraded to a Fire Advisory. Under the advisory open fires are allowed, but residents are reminded to be extra vigilant. They are also encouraged to soak the area adjacent to fire pits with water is recommended. The Fire Advisory will be in effect as long as the Fire Chief’s Office deems appropriate for the current and forecasted weather conditions.

Cultivate community at the Free Food Shed

Cultivate Cochrane and the Helping Hands Society of Cochrane and Area are teaming up to encourage gardeners to share extra produce with the community. The groups will be hosting a Garden Party Thursdays from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Helping Hands Free Food Shed at St. Andrews Church. To participate harvest produce, give it a clean, bag the goods and drop the treats off at the Food Shed.

The Social Spot is seeking gently used clothing in used or new condition with labels on bags indicating the sizes included in the donation.
