The Town of Cochrane is inviting all bibliophiles to consider a unique opportunity to support the community’s love of books, learning and connection.

The Cochrane Library Board is currently seeking residents to fill two public-at-large positions. Those with a passion for libraries and community service are encouraged to apply.

Board members contribute approximately 5 to 10 hours per month and are appointed to an initial three-year term.

“Serving on the Cochrane Library Board is an opportunity to have a direct impact on one of our educational, cultural and community anchors,” said Stacey Loe, Executive Director of Corporate Services. “Board members participate in the management and regulation of library operations, offer guidance on services and programs, and help set the long-term strategic direction and priorities.”

Established by Town Council, the Board is responsible for overseeing the library’s strategic planning, ensuring financial sustainability, and supporting partnerships and policies that align with the community’s needs and values.

Eligible applicants must be at least 18 years old and reside in either Cochrane or Rocky View County.

Applications are open until Thursday, July 10, 2025. For more information or to apply, visit cochrane.ca/committees or contact [email protected].
