Last year’s inaugural Cochrane Pet Expo was such a success it’s coming back for more.
Pet lovers of all descriptions will be able to indulge themselves (and their furry families) in a wide array of products and services at the popular event, sponsored by Global Pet Foods Cochrane, at the Cochrane & District AG Society Park on June 1.
Organizers promise something for everyone, including: shows highlighting the incredible skills and agility of the Global Pet Foods Super Dogs; face painting and balloon twisting; pet photos; petting zoo with some farm animals and interactive experiences with Butterfield Acres, and a variety of vendors showcasing the latest in pet-related products and services.
Participants will also be able to learn about pet adoption and support local rescue organizations.
There will be a number of tasty treats available from a wide selection of local food trucks.
Anecdotally, on a nice day at a local dog park, some local pet owners joke about how it sometimes seems that there are more dogs in Cochrane than people.
Fiona Sharman, who runs Global Pet Foods on Main Street, didn’t confirm that statistic.
“I don’t know if it’s a rumour or it’s true,” she laughed. “I think nowadays because so many people choose not to have children, they have dogs.”
The Super Dogs are the stars of the show.
“I think it’s going to be pretty exciting now that Super Dogs is on board.”
Global Pet Foods (the parent company to Sharman’s Cochrane store) sponsors the popular Super Dogs attraction. The Crazy Disc Dogs are also a popular attraction.
“We had tons of fun at last year’s event, and we can't wait to welcome everyone and their beloved pets back to the Cochrane Pet Expo,” said organizer Kailey Mitchell.
"Get ready for another day filled with furry friends, fantastic shows, and family fun.”
Admission to the event is only $2 per person, or $5 per family making it an affordable day out for everyone. The first 100 families through the door will receive exclusive swag bags filled with coupons and goodies.
The event runs from 10 am to 4 pm on June 1.
Cochrane Pet Expo is sponsored by Global Pet Foods Cochrane, Pet Valu Leah Real Estate Group and Arrowhead Veterinary Centre.
Attendees are encouraged to bring their dogs assuming they are on leash and under control.
