Cochrane RCMP investigate suspicious death

Cochrane RCMP are investigating a suspicious death after discovering a deceased male north of Redwood Meadows. The body of Sehyun Edmund Lim, 19, from Calgary was discovered last Thursday at 1:40 p.m.

Cochrane RCMP are investigating a suspicious death after discovering a deceased male north of Redwood Meadows.

The body of Sehyun Edmund Lim, 19, from Calgary was discovered last Thursday at 1:40 p.m. after police responded to reports of a deceased body at a remote location near the intersection of Highway 22 and Highway 8.

There were indications Lim’s body had been there for some time, according to RCMP press release.

Cochrane RCMP, RCMP major crimes unit and the Calgary Medical Examiner’s office are working in partnership to determine the cause and manner of death. A preliminary autopsy was conducted last Friday.

Investigators are currently looking for information that can assist in tracking Lim’s movements since Jan. 21.

Two-vehicle collision near Cochrane

A two-vehicle collision halted traffic on Springbank Road early Monday night.

Cochrane RCMP and emergency services responded to the accident at approximately 6 p.m.

One vehicle, traveling north on Range Road 31, failed to stop at the stop sign and crossed Springbank Road striking a westbound vehicle. The passenger from the northbound vehicle was taken to a Calgary hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Traffic going north on Springbank Road was stopped during the clean up of the collision.

Alcohol and speed are not believed to be factors.
