The Town of Cochrane passed a resolution to formally amend its budget to reflect the true cost for the new Protective Services building.
During the March 14 meeting, council voted unanimously to approve a resolution that would amend the formal cost of the project from $19 million to $23 million. Town administration noted there was no actual change in cost, as $23 million has always been the expected cost of the project. The $19 million set out in the 2020-22 capital budget only covered the costs associated with construction.
The project is on schedule and is expected to remain within the $23-million budget.
