Town councillors met at the Cochrane RancheHouse March 1 to discuss the town’s 10-Year Financial Strategy.

No changes were made with respect to the capital projects summary in the strategy. A formal update of the project list, costs and funding will be published in the 2013-2023 10-Year Financial Strategy, which will be available at the 2014 Cochrane Trade Show (May 3-4).

“At the end of the month they will be prioritizing what they, as a council, will want to accomplish in their term,” explained Paige Milner, senior manager of corporate services with the Town of Cochrane.

“This was really an opportunity for council to become comfortable with the capitol projects and what’s coming down the line,” she said, adding that the town takes a really ‘interactive approach’ to developing their strategic planning.

Milner said she aims to improve the brochure outlining the town’s financial strategy each year to make it visually appealing, while remaining concise and organized.
