Local non-profit agency the Cochrane Society for Housing Options (CSHO) continues to increase awareness of housing issues faced by Cochrane and area residents.
As the society continues to work toward its goal of fundraising $100,000 to go toward its 13 two-bedroom rental unit project that will operate in partnership with the province under the Affordable Housing Program, they are looking for support for an upcoming event.
CSHO will be hosting ‘Night at the Movies’ at the Cochrane Movie House in support of its ‘Homes for All’ fundraising event June 11.
Those who wish to support CSHO’s mission to extend the number of affordable housing units (‘affordable’ is defined as rental rates set at least 10 per cent lower than market value) available in town can show their support in a number of ways.
Supporters can purchase tickets to a screening of Spy or Jurassic Park (doors open at 6:30 p.m.), complete with refreshments and a cash bar (event is for adults aged 18 and up) for $30 or two for $50; provide a cash donation to help offset event costs; or donate a silent auction item.
To learn more, CSHO housing coordinator Corinne Burns can be reached at [email protected] or 403-851-2261.
Tickets to the event can be purchased at Cochrane Family Community Support Services, Bow Valley Credit Union, Home Treasures and Home Reno Heaven.
