The Springbank Old Tyme Fall Fair is bringing back a family tradition, to bring out families.
“Traditionally fall fairs were more family focused and we wanted to put that influence back into the community,” said Lisa Constantineau, event co-ordinator.
The 44th annual fair will offer more family-friendly activities this year, including a family fun walk & run, a climbing wall and a spring-free trampoline, and a free kids zone – along with the yearly agriculture displays and demonstrations, farm animals, and livestock education and demonstrations.
“In the past, the activities were not very kid focused and this year we wanted to bring families together,” Constantineau said.
When the fair was initiated more than four decades ago, it was originally a place where families could show off their agriculture and horticulture. Over the years, organizers have adopted additional activities and entertainment including a live entertainment stage featuring all “local talent.”
The annual fair is also welcoming a new addition, a vendors market that will featuring Springbank community groups and artisan merchandise for sale.
The day kicks off with the family fun walk and run and the annual Lions Club pancake breakfast from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., following with six hours of indoor and outdoor activities for the whole family.
“Hopefully it will be an amazing day with some good weather,” Constantineau said.
“There is something for everyone and we are looking forward to welcoming the community.”
The Old Tyme Fall Fair will be on Sept. 10 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Springbank Park For All Seasons, located at 32224A Springbank Rd.
