Fire advisory issued for the community

With the mix of hot weather and dry grass in the community, the Town has issued a fire advisory on July 8.

As of July 8, the Town of Cochrane has declared a fire advisory.

Due to hot weather set for this week and the high amount of dry uncured grasses in the community, the Town of Cochrane has issued a fire advisory, effective at noon on July 8.

The fire advisory reflects moderate fire danger. During the fire advisory, open fires are permitted, but residents are asked to remain extra vigilant. Soaking the area surrounding a fire put with water is highly recommended.

The following list by the Town outlines what is allowed during a fire advisory:

• open fire permits

• Town fire pits

• backyard fire pits

• charcoal briquette barbecue

• propane/natural gas barbecue

• propane/natural gas fire pit • outdoor fireplace

• chiminea

• Fornos oven

• indoor fireplace (wood burning)
