Cochrane area foodies will be able to enjoy the annual Taste of Cochrane Oct. 3 at various local restaurants.
Several participating eateries will be inviting guests to visit their establishments between 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. to sample the best local food and drinks.
Last year, event organizer Ronnie Knowles spoke to the Eagle promoting how Taste of Cochrane was different from other local events because it encouraged people to explore the town while moving from place to place.
The location of the restaurants can stretch from one end of downtown to the other, while also getting people to explore outside of downtown. And while people are encouraged to walk, there will also be a bus from Fenton Bus Lines to take people to various stops.
Last year’s Taste of Cochrane had around 20 restaurants participate. And in 2013, the inaugural year of Taste of Cochrane, there were over 100 people who attended. Each business offers a sampling of its best food or drink, which can include but is not limited to pizza, different cheeses, sandwiches or tea.
This year’s restaurants will include; Bergeron Cheese, Big Hill Pizza/Hideout Pub, Bullhorn Saloon, Cumbrian Arms, Legacy Café, Mehtab East Indian Cuisine, Neon Cactus, Prairie Smoke Country Kitchen, Schooners on First, Sweet Temptations, Tea & Other Things, Tim’s Gourmet Pizza, Twisted Basil, Veg Out Health Boutique, with more to come. Advance tickets will be available at certain participating restaurants and are $20 if purchased before Sept. 30 and $25 after that date.
