The Rotary Club of Cochrane is continuing with its sponsored free public skating for the second year.

The free skating program, open to everyone, begins in October with the first sessions on Oct. 1 and Oct. 2 at Spray Lake Sawmills Family Sports Centre. The free skates will run each weekend until the end of March 2017. Loaner skates are also available to those who do not have their own.

Each session will be one hour and 15 minutes and anyone interested can go to the Spray Lake Sawmill Family Sports Centre website at www.slssportscentre.com for exact times each weekend.

Last year, 2,438 skaters enjoyed the free sessions.

The rotary club says free access to Public Skating benefits everyone; it removes the financial barrier for certain groups and promotes an active and healthy life-style.
