The Friends of Mitford are getting ready to host their big, annual fundraising event for Mitford Middle School this Dec. 1.
“We find parents are getting inundated with so many other fundraisers, so this is the only one being offered to parents for the school year,” said gala chair, Julia Grohn.
The Friends of Mitford is the major fundraising arm for Mitford Middle School.
“Funds will be put toward playground enhancement, student activities and 21st century learning (technology-based learning).”
With doors opening at 5:30 p.m., a ticket price of $20 will earn parents and others attending the opportunity to bid on some hot-ticket silent auction items, including signed Stamps jerseys courtesy of defensive lineman, Justin Phillips and running back, Rob Cote, partake in snacks and refreshments, purchase raffle basket and 50/50 tickets, as well as take in some performances led by the gala choir, school band and a feature show led by JayDee Hypnotist.
The former stand-up improv comic has been entertaining audiences with his family-friendly hypnotist show for several years; he is a certified hypnotherapist by the National Guild of Hypnotists and is based out of Edmonton.
The JayDee Hypnotist show runs from 7-8:30 p.m.
“This is going to be a great event,” said Grohn. “The gala choir has been working really hard these last few weeks.”
Grohn said they hope to sell 300 tickets, but have a long way to go since they are sitting at less than 100.
Those interested in purchasing tickets can contact Grohn at [email protected] or 403-510-7689.
