Environment and Climate Change Canada has issued a heat warning for Rocky View County near Cochrane, with daytime highs near 30°C and overnight lows around 14°C expected to continue today. More moderate temperatures are anticipated by Thursday.

Residents and visitors are urged to take precautions to stay safe, including rescheduling outdoor activities to cooler times of day, staying hydrated with water, and taking frequent breaks in shaded or air-conditioned areas. Vulnerable populations—including children, seniors, individuals with health conditions, and outdoor workers—should be monitored closely for symptoms of heat-related illness.

Health officials also remind the public to never leave people or pets unattended in parked vehicles, even for a short time. Symptoms of heat stroke and heat exhaustion include high body temperature, confusion, fainting, and lack of sweating.
