1 – Great Kids Award
The 2018 Great Kids Award deadline is approaching. Alberta residents have until 4 p.m. on Nov. 24 to nominate a youth who has had a positive impact on their community, have overcome difficult situations, or have stood up for bullying. Nominees must be between the ages of five and 18 and be a resident of Alberta.

2 – Cochrane Rotary Youth Talent Festival
A variety of talents, in categories of art, dance, music and drama, will be performed by youth on Nov. 10 at 6:30 p.m. at the Rock Pointe Church. The top five performances, as well as an overall winner, will be chosen at the end of the evening by a panel of “celebrity” adjudicators. Scholarships, honoured by the Rumple family, and cash prizes are available to be won.
3 – Cochrane Light Up
Christmas will be welcomed to Cochrane on Nov. 18 on 1st Street. Mrs. Claus will be in attendance for festivities including shopping, ice carving, hayrides and carols. There will also be free hot dogs and hot chocolate around the fire pots. Food Bank donations will be accepted.
